Download on Steam

Use the Steam button above to open the official Mortal Shell II Open Beta page. The demo is free, PC-only, and separate from the full-game store listing. Installing through Steam keeps the playable build and public updates tied to the official application instead of an unofficial download mirror.

Know the beta boundary

Steam describes the beta as roughly the opening three hours, from the prologue into the first explorable region. It includes Beacons, optional dungeons, hidden mini-bosses, challenges, and the route toward Magdalena, the Lady of the Woods. It is an in-development build, so bugs and balance changes are expected.

What progress is worth making

Playing unlocks the Flayed Harbinger cosmetic for the full game. Reaching beyond Marrow Keep also unlocks the option to skip the prologue at launch. Currency, weapons, Shells, collectibles, and other discovered items reset, so use the beta to learn routes and combat rather than farm an inventory for August 20.

First things to do

Use basic enemies to learn hardening before a boss attempt, then clear the prologue and enter the first region. Activate route anchors, test weapon reach and recovery before spending resources, and read every branch or build label carefully when following a patch-sensitive guide.

When to use the map

Open the interactive map only after you know which task you are solving. Filter for one category, such as a Shell or Beacon, and finish nearby checks in the same route. This avoids turning the first region into an inefficient sweep of every icon.

Before the full release

Mortal Shell II launches digitally on August 20, 2026 for Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The official site says the full game expands into an interconnected open world with eight playable Shells, stamina-free combat, sidearms, and broader weapon upgrades.

Use this site after install

Start with the beginner guide for the route, use the verified Wiki for current facts, open the map for location checks, and use the equipment database to browse client-confirmed names and combat labels. Incomplete entity pages are withheld until effects and locations are verified.
